In Périgueux, a lively “summer on the quays”, with new features

In Périgueux, a lively “summer on the quays”, with new features

"A Summer on the Docks" returns for a fifth season starting this Monday, July 14. Activities are offered every day from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., with a closing time of 11:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Chalets , hammocks, and pétanque courts have replaced cars on the quays of the Isle. For the fifth consecutive year, "A Summer on the Quays" returns from this Monday, July 14 to August 24, between the Barris and Saint-Georges bridges in Périgueux. "Our goal is for people staying in Périgueux this summer to find the holiday atmosphere here," explains Anne Marchand, First Deputy Mayor. An atmosphere that is already felt in the decor: beach volleyball court, straw huts, and pennants are in place.

Spaces to relax, move and eat

As in previous years, the summer village is divided into several areas. Visitors who come to relax can enjoy the Zen corner. If the sun is too hot on the hammocks, pedal boats, canoes, and paddleboards are available from the Périgueux Canoe-Kayak Club.

After these physical activities, head to the chalets to refresh and eat. The BAM brasserie will offer its drinks menu. At La Cabane, you'll find burgers, hot dogs, and other grilled meats. The Lebanese restaurant Al Mosaïc will also be present with its falafel sandwiches and marinated chicken skewers. Running the stand are brothers Pierre and Angelo, who have been participating in "A Summer on the Docks" for four years and are renting a chalet for the second year. "Last year, it went very well; we had great feedback. The more people discover it, the more they come back," they rejoice.
